Milton’s History

Did you know…

• The name “Milton” comes from “Mill Town” because Milton was an important mill centre for Nova Scotia!

• Milton used to be called “The Falls” because of the waterfall system that allowed for the town’s mill business!

• Milton is the birthplace of Margaret Marshall Saunders, the first Canadian author to ever surpass 1 million copies sold! There is a plaque in her honour located in Tupper Park.
